How to Reset Administrator Password in Windows 7 with Renee Passnow
Please make the 2 tasks to reset admin password in Windows 7:
Task 1: Create Password Reset Disk with Renee Passnow
You need:
- Renee Passnow (Download it now!)
- Windows computer which can login and work normally (The Windows system of the computer which you used to create bootable media does not matter.).
- USB stick (Please backup data inside the USB disk in advanced. All data will be erased when creating the bootable media) or CD/DVD(Need 200MB at least)
Password reset disk create process:
1. Choose creation method: USB or CD/DVD in Renee Passnow
(You do not need to provide any possible password combination or account information.)
2. Connect the USB/CD/DVD to your computer and then please click “Create USB” or “Create CD” to process the creation.
Task 2: Reset admin password in target Windows 7 computer with the created password reset disk
Step 1: Boot the target PC from the created password reset disk you make before.
1. Connect the created password reset disk to the locked Windows 7 computer which you want to reset admin password for.
2. Enter BIOS setting.
Please hold a Hot key to enter the BIOS menu.Please click here to find how to change the boot order of your computer brand. (Can not find your brand? Please refer to your PC manual to find out the method.)
Change the boot order of the locked Windows 7 computer in BIOS. If the created password reset disk is not the first in the boot order, your PC will start “normally” (i.e. boot from your hard drive) and will not check your password reset disk.
☞ If your computer is UEFI environment, check boot from USB under UEFI environment.
After successfully changing the boot order in BIOS, please save the settings and reboot your PC.
Step 2: Select “PassNow!” function after booting from the bootable media you created.
After loading into main interface, please select the “PassNow!” function.
Step 3: Select target Windows 10 system in the list.
Step 4: Choose the target administrator account then click “Clear Password” to remove its login password.
After reset successful, please restart your PC. Before restarting the computer, please disconnect the bootable USB/CD from your computer. Then your computer will boot normally. Then you will find that you can login Windows 7 with administrator.
If Windows still shows the login page which requires password, please press “Enter” directly.
Also, you can click “Create new account” to make a new administrator with Renee Passnow and then reset the password with this new created administrator.
